Hello
Guys I Just Wanted To Share This Essay I Had To Write For Credo High
School To Get Accepted In To Their Program. I Hope You Guys Enjoy It!

What
I believe in is freedom. I believe that everyone deserves the right
to be free. The right to say as they will, the right to be able to
dance in the rain without being judged. I also believe in a new
definition of world freedom. Ultimately, I believe in cradle-to-grave
freedom.
The
day we are born into this world we should be equally free, because
freedom is a natural part of us. It is a natural part of being human.
Freedom is expressed throughout us in every detail, in every day. No
one can truly take that away from us. The culture tries, and often
succeeds in stripping us of our freedom the moment we are born. As
soon as we first open our little eyes to peak at our new world, they
come at us with vaccinations, social security numbers,... and more.
Yet no matter how hard they try to remove our natural God-given
freedom, it is always a part of us. There's more than enough freedom
for all of us to share.
Some
parents believe in arranged marriage. Maybe it is because they feel
they know what's best for their children. Or maybe it's because that
is just how their culture is, and that is what they believe in to be
right. But it is taking some of our freedom away. I think that people
should be able to have the freedom to choose whom (or who not) they
wish to marry – whether they are a different race, or believe in a
different religion, or even a different sexual orientation. It is
still our right to choose for ourselves.
I
believe there are different parts of freedom. There are the smaller
parts, like the freedom to say what your heart desires, without any
punishments, or to be able to make your own decisions without
anyone's judgement. There is also the freedom to express yourself in
any way you please.
Then
there's the bigger parts of freedom, like absolutely no slavery of
any kind. A lot people fight for freedom, yet they believe it's right
or it's ok to own another human being. I wonder why they think that
their freedom is more important than ours. I don't understand why you
would feel that if you take away my freedom that it then gives you
more.
I
believe that true freedom is when you are not under anyone's command.
True freedom is when you are free to run in a meadow of flowers,
under a bright clear sky near a crystal blue stream with a garland of
flowers in your hair, dancing in the summer breeze. Far from taxes,
and cruelty, far from judgement other than your own free will.
It's
time we redefine world freedom. This idea of a free world is far, far
away from the civilization we now know. To me, world freedom means we
are absolutely free of war, bloodshed, anger, and hate. This is the
kind of world where you can say and live as you desire without taking
freedom away from anyone else.
Leaders, or people in charge believe that they have more freedom than
those people they rule over. Ultimately, because now they have to be
responsible for everyone else, perhaps they aren't as free as they
think. People who are rich think that they have more freedom or more
rights than us, but they become so filled with greed and
unconsciousness about what they are really doing that they are less
free than the “less fortunate.”
Finally,
I believe in freedom at the time of our death. We should be able to
choose how we die, where we die, and when we want to die. I believe
that you should have the freedom to be buried on their own land and
have their family prepare the ceremony if they choose.
Even suicide can a choice made
with a free mind. A lot of people commit suicide at an early age.
Some of the reasons people chose to end their own life may be because
of bullying by people at school, or even by their own family. Other
reasons are unknown to us. We think it is unthinkable to just end
your life, but they must have had a serious amount of misery, pain,
and suffering to believe that death is the only reasonable answer. I
think those people have the freedom to choose when they want to end
their life.
However,
that said, I don't believe that killing yourself because you are
suffering from the pressure of what others want is freedom. In that
case, your freedom to even take your own life is not freedom at all
because others are driving your decision.
Freedom is natural, inborn,
instinctive and mostly unconditional. In the end, I believe that
true freedom is living within yourself, living in true happiness and
love, and hope.
